Our Story

Little Rock Central High School (LRCH) assist students in developing skillls necessary to become independent and self-sufficient adults who will succeed and contribute responsibly in a global community. In the EAST program our standards are aligned with this mission. Students are empowered with technology, and provided an educational atomosphere that allows them to gain insight into their own abilities to acquire and use information, solve problems, and gain valuable real learning experiences in preparation for college and careers.

Our goal as an EAST student is to create projects that mean a lot to us and our community. We also hope to inspire our peers and community leaders with initiatives that stand out and highlight important issues.

We want to remind all our our peers that anything is possible in EAST at Central.

EAST FACILITATOR

Mrs. McCormack has been the EAST facilitator for Little Rock Central High School for 9 years, and has taught students for 13 years. On a typical day, you can spot Mrs. McCormack working hard to inspire and challenge students to create projects that interest them and benefit our community. Ms. McCormack always shows support for anything we can put our minds to. She is an amazing role-model and is always eager to help EAST students and organizations around our school. Without her guidance and knowledge, our program would not have grown into what it is today.

Little Rock Central High

Little Rock Central High School (LRCH), the only functioning high school National Historic Site in our Nation. Little Rock Central High is a school rich with history, academic excellence and diversity. The structure, built in 1927, has been added to the National Register of Historic Places and is also designated by the National Park Service as a National Historic Landmark. Upon it's opening it was designated by the American Institute of Architects as "the most beautiful high school in America."
